Owner & Coach

I was introduced to functional fitness in the fall of 2007 while still in college. As a collegiate discus and hammer thrower, I was hesitant to abandon my current training methods mid-season. However, upon entering graduate school, I started doing the CrossFit methodology regularly, and I quickly became a believer in its effectiveness.

Also, while in grad school, I was a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for Illinois State University and worked with all of the sports there. This allowed me to figure out how to incorporate classical strength and conditioning methods with CrossFit in order to develop safe and effective techniques to help anyone attain their health and fitness goals. My passion as a coach is to not only provide workouts for people but also to teach them why they are doing what I am asking of them. I have found that the people who have made lasting changes to their fitness have taken it upon themselves to get educated about fitness, and they don’t just blindly follow a workout on a piece of paper or whiteboard.
