As a high school athlete, I was blessed to have a very forward-thinking coach, Jerry Dean, who introduced me to weight training about 30 years ago. He not only taught us the value of strength training for athletes but also its value as a way to maintain health and fitness throughout life.

Many years later in 2008, Josh Earleywine (CrossFit Sanctify Co-Owner) introduced me to the CrossFit training methodology. His interest and enthusiasm in the philosophy and proven effectiveness of CrossFit led me to begin employing CrossFit methods in my own training. In the spring of 2010, I injured my ACL, and I credit the CrossFit methodology for the quick recovery I made.

I have been involved in basketball for the past 35 years as a player and coach. As an assistant basketball coach at Beloit College, I began applying the techniques and concepts promoted through CrossFit, and I found great benefit for my athletes in terms of strength and agility.

The great thing about CrossFit and how we implement it at CrossFit Sanctify is it can benefit high-level athletes, or it can help those of us who simply want to improve our general fitness.

I have a great passion to coach, and I have found the techniques we emphasize Sanctify can help people achieve their strength and fitness goals in a safe effective way.

You will work hard while having fun alongside a community of great people.
